While the past few months have been a forgettable blur, summer is almost here! Get ready to soak up some sunshine while also diving deeper into all the nourishment, self-care and simple pleasures you’ve now grown accustomed to enjoying from the comfort of home. To do so with some style, here are our top picks to bring more brightness, breathability and coziness to everyone’s favorite season.

Tees and Tanks

One of the timeless telltale signs of summer is a tee or tank. Here are some classics with a twist: A literal twist, like with this twist-front and tie-front tee, or figurative, like with this drop shoulder and peplum design. Graphics, Polos and stripes are also fresh takes on a tee.

As for tanks, the Muscle Tank is on flex for the season. Layered up or on its own, this lightweight, boxy tank can be your secret power move. The Button Back Chambray Tank has simplicity up front, buttons down the back, and it's cool all over. The Dream Tank gives you freedom and femininity that can be worn in the day or night. Lindy Deal, UpWest’s Curator of Comfort, says tiered and ruffled tanks are trending. “Simple little details like that on a tee make it cute and comfortable - two of our favorite things.”

From restful sleep to outdoor adventures, errand-running to lounging around, shorts can take you there. The Summit Stretch Short, which offers the same comfort and stretch from the cargo pant but in a short, can go from the coziest spot on the couch to your greatest adventure. The All-Around Short is ready to go wherever you go, with its curved hem, playful tassels, handy pockets and adjustable waist.

Deal says matching sets with shorts - like the Baja top and short set, Chambray top and short set, or matching short and PJ top sets - will be sought-after this season. “Matching sets are so great because they make getting ready for your day or night a breeze, you instantly feel put together, you can mix and match to switch it up, they keep you cool, and the fabrics are super comfy,” she explains.

Ranging from super causal and every day to feminine and frills, there’s a dress for all the things this summer. The T-Shirt Dress turns your favorite tee into a dress. The Everywhere Sweatshirt Dress with its turnback sleeves and jersey lined pockets is cute, comfy and functional. The Everyday Tank Dress is a lightweight maxi dress that can be dressed down with sandals or dressed up with wedges and jewelry. A Cami Slip Dress, or this playful midi dress has fun details like a tiered design and a high-low hem, but also comfort with its flowy, breathable fabric.

With the change of season, there’s a change of fabrics. Look for breathable by day and light warmth by night. Plisse is a fabric you’ll see a lot this season, Deal says. “We love the plisse material because it’s light and airy but offers comfort and coverage.

This season, you’ll see it in shorts, a beach coverup, pants, and utility romper.” For the cooler nights outside, guys should reach for the Beach Sweatshirt and gals for the Cozy Twist-Front Sweatshirt. When it comes to summertime sleep, Deal says, “Women love the peached jersey and washable satin to wear at night. For men, it's all about the wicking.”

We’ve all been spending more time than usual at home lately, so let’s mix it up. Give your space a simple refresh by switching out your pillows and throws. Opt for a fun pop of color like the sunrise or adobe in The.Softest.Throw. (yes, that’s its name… for good reason) The Woven Floor Pouf and The Stripe Knit Pillow add a textured, light and airy feel to any room. While the Meditation Pouf can add a stylish and functional touch to your sanctuary and at-home practices.
